CHICAGO — Police are warning residents of the Northwest Side about a rash of businesses burglarized in the last month.

During the six burglaries, someone entered the businesses by prying open a side door or breaking out the front windows. Once inside, the thief disabled the phone and alarm system before taking cash, police said.

The incidents occurred at the following date, times and locations:

• At 2 a.m. on July 2, in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

• Overnight between June 28 and June 29, in the 6300 block of North Cicero Avenue

• At 4:50 a.m. on June 26, in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

• At 11:54 p.m. on June 26, in the 3900 block of North Cicero Avenue

• Between June 19 and June 23, in the 4800 block of West Lawrence Avenue

• At 4:30 a.m. on June 22, in the 4700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue
