CHICAGO — It'll be milder than usual this evening, so throw on a sweater and get outside.

1. Blue Man Goes Classical: The Blue Man Group and Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra are teaming up again for a free classical concert at Millennium Park. The program will include classical favorites from the orchestra, Blue Man Group originals, and the groups performing together, with some surprises promised from the Blue Men. The free show starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St.

2. Don’t Be An L7 Weenie: "The Sandlot," tale of a group of baseball-loving boys and their hijinks during one memorable summer will be shown under the stars twice on the Far Northwest Side in July as part of the Chicago Park District Movies in the Parks series. The flick starts at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday Gladstone Park, 5421 N. Menard Ave.

3. Fire Dancers, Drums and Dancing on the Lakefront: Grab your blanket and head a fourth of a mile south of Foster Avenue beach to watch the spectacle that is Chicago’s Full Moon Jam. There will fire dancers, fire spinners, drum circles and dancing — all overlooking Lake Michigan. Secure a spot by 7:30 p.m.; festivities go from 8 to 10: 15 p.m.

4. Hear the Bells: This afternoon, the largest instrument in the world will sound its resonant tones. The University of Chicago’s carillon in Rockefeller Chapel with its 100 tons of bronze bells will be played for a recital for picnickers on the chapel’s lawn and the Midway Plaisance. The more ambitious can climb the 271 steps to watch the bells played. The music begins at 4:30 p.m. at Rockefeller Chapel, 5850 S. Woodlawn Ave.

5. Play with Police in the Park at Swift Elementary: As part of Ald. Harry Osterman’s (48th) CAPS Night Out program in Edgewater, officers from the Chicago Police Department will come out to shoot hoops, play bags, soccer and more with neighborhood families. Swift Elementary School playground, on the corner of Thorndale and Winthrop avenues, every Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. until August 26, free.
