CHICAGO — Three police officers and two other people were hospitalized after their cars collided in Little Village Monday night.

Around 9 p.m., the officers were driving northbound on Millard Avenue in a squad car with its emergency lights on when a white Dodge Avenger ran a stop sign at the intersection of Millard and Cermak Road, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The three officers were taken to an area hospital where they were treated and released. The 40-year-old man who was driving the Avenger and a woman, whose age is unknown, were also taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Sedevic said.

The 40-year-old man was ticketed for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, Sedevic said.
