CHICAGO — A group of teenagers helped craft a mural that promotes healthy eating in Edgewater.
The mural was unveiled at a ceremony Saturday with Ald. Harry Osterman (48th), family members and others. It's on display at Whole Foods Market, 6009 N. Broadway Ave. The colorful mural features veggies and natural imagery, including a cardinal.
Steve Weaver, regional director of After School Matters, said the mural and the community's support of it will "activate" the street. The teens who made the mural are a part of After School Matters, which provides out-of-school activities for Chicago's kids.
"This wall reflects the diversity and the strength of the community," Weaver said.
