WICKER PARK  —  One of the owners of Wicker Park's iconic music club Double Door is looking for his stand-up bass guitar after it "seems to have walked away," Sean Mulroney said on Facebook.

Mulroney, who co-owns Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave., used his white Ampeg Baby Bass to perform in DiaBEATthis, a benefit on Thursday featuring four local bands including Kevin Flynn & the Avondale Ramblers.

The Chicago-based "Paddy rock" band put a message on its Facebook page on Friday, urging folks to spread the word.

"Someone stole Sean's Ampeg Baby Bass. This instrument is crucial to the band's sound. Please share this as widely as you can!" the band said in a Facebook status.

Introduced around 1962, the Ampeg baby bass is an electric upright bass that produces a "thoompy" sound.

Mulroney said he last saw the guitar around midnight in the club.  The guitar is in a black case.

Anyone with information leading to the recovery of the instrument is encouraged to call Double Door at 312-731-3197.
