IRVING PARK — From a three-legged race to a "moonwalk" inflatable, there's plenty of old-fashioned and new-fangled fun planned for people of all ages during Saturday's inaugural Horner Fest at Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Ave.

The party kicks off at 9 a.m. with the park's farmers market and guided walking tours of the restoration project under way along the Chicago River bank.

The afternoon, 3-6 p.m., is packed with activities for kids and grown-ups alike, including a children's bike parade, bean bag toss competition and pizza eating contest sponsored by Tano's Pizzeria.

Join in a Latin dance lesson at 6:30 p.m. and then put your new moves to use at 7 p.m. when the SalsaChicago Mambo All-stars Orchestra takes the stage.

The day winds down at dusk with an outdoor screening of the inspirational sports drama "When the Game Stands Tall."

The complete schedule of the fest's activities is available online.

Horner Fest was organized by the Horner Park Advisory Council in conjunction with area civic organizations: Horner Park West Neighborhood Association, Irving Park Concerned Neighbors Association, Irving Park East Neighborhood Association, People of East Albany Park, Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association and The Residents of Irving Park.
