CHICAGO — With a new record store opening soon in Pilsen, joining dozens more operating citywide, it appears that the vinyl record business is thriving. 

But how difficult is it to manage a record store in 2015? 

Wil Sutphin, a fixture on Chicago's vinyl scene for four decades, closed Wilbilly's in Roscoe Village two months ago.

Sutphin also shuttered Deadwax — another vinyl record store — in 2011 and said, in retrospect, "I should have pulled out sooner."
