JEFFERSON PARK — The Chicago Citywide Orchestra will perform from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N. Long Ave.
The all-volunteer, 68-year-old orchestra was honored this year by the Chicago City Council. Led by Conductor and Music Director Chung Yoon Park, the orchestra performs four times a year on the second-floor auditorium of the Jefferson Park Field House.
The orchestra is made up of students and amateur, semiprofessional and retired musicians of all ages from Chicago and the surrounding metropolitan area, organizers said.
Interested musicians, who have their own instruments, are invited to join the orchestra.
