MORGAN PARK — Nobody really thinks much about their sewers — until their basement floods.

A seminar at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Beverly Arts Center aims to enlighten homeowners on Chicago's sewer system.

"Basement Flooding: Understanding Your Sewers & Reducing Flooding Risks on Your Property" is a free seminar that will be held at the arts center at 2407 W. 111th St. in Morgan Park.

The event is hosted by Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th), Metropolitan Water Reclamation District President Mariyana Spyropolous and the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association.

All attendees can request a free rain barrel as part of an effort to reduce the amount of water that can sometimes overwhelm the sewer system during heavy storms.

For more information and to RSVP, visit www.chicagobungalow.org or call 312-675-0300 Ext. 10.
