LINCOLN PARK — Brown Line trains will be rerouted to the Red Line subway over the weekend due to construction on the Ravenswood Connector.

The reroute will run 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Those who wanted to use the Armitage, Sedgwick, Chicago and Merchandise Mart stations will be able to take free shuttle buses running between Fullerton and Clark/Lake.

A shuttle train will also operate around the Loop for connections to Brown Line service in the subway and the buses at Clark/Lake. People will be able to board the shuttle train at any Loop elevated station from the Outer Loop platform.

Brown Line trains will operate as normal between Kimball and Fullerton.

The Ravenswood Connector is the elevated portion of track between Armitage and the Loop. This weekend's construction is part of a $90 million project to provide a smoother, more reliable ride, according to a CTA news release.
