BEVERLY — An anniversary gift came early for the Beverly Area Arts Alliance.

The group behind the Beverly Art Walk celebrates one year since its first meeting in June. Meanwhile, The Alliance's latest pop-up art gallery was set to close at the end of May.

The Alliance has made a habit of using vacant storefronts throughout Beverly as makeshift art galleries. The latest example is its Ephemera gallery at 10326 S. Western Ave. in Beverly.

The gallery debuted with its "Enchantment: Nature Re-Imagined" exhibit on May 15. Nearly 300 people of varying ages and backgrounds visited the art opening, said Monica Wilczak, a founder of The Alliance.

Howard Ludwig says the galleries have been great for the 'hood:

The rent-free agreement between the landlord and The Alliance has now been extended through June. Thus, the local artists group will celebrate it's first anniversary with a fundraiser from 6-10 p.m. on June 4 at the Ephemera gallery.

The work of 10 artists from Beverly and beyond will be on display as The Alliance raises money for its summer events. Tickets for the fundraiser are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Tickets include live music and craft beer. Food trucks and raffles will also be available. The art on display as part of the Enchantment exhibit will also be for sale. More information is available on The Alliance's website.

The Alliance is planning a full summer of activities in Beverly. Here's a sample of a few events already set:

Lawyers for the Creative Arts was created through a partnership between The Alliance and the Beverly Area Planning Association. Longwood Drive in Morgan Park. The event is free, but reservations are recommended. For more information, visit the Beverly Area Planning Association's website.
