CHICAGO — A 47-year-old man ran into the Rock 'n' Roll McDonald's downtown pleading for help after being stabbed in the back in the wee hours of Sunday morning, according to police.
Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman, said two men got into a "verbal altercation" before one of them brandished a knife and stabbed the other in his back before fleeing.
The victim went into the nearby McDonald's at 600 N. Clark St. in River North and pleaded with those inside to assist him, Sweeney said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
The victim knew his attacker, but no one has been arrested yet, Sweeney said.
