CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was shot after a fight near Douglas Park Friday afternoon, recently announced as the new home of Riot Fest.
Around 2:40 p.m., the man got into a fight with another man in the 3000 block of West Roosevelt Road. When the man attempted to get into his car, the other man opened fire, striking the victim in his hip, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The shooting occurred just north of the park in North Lawndale, police said.
The man drove himself to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Sweeney said.
No one is in custody for the shooting.
