THE LOOP — The lane closures on Washington Street will be extended as part of Loop Link construction.

Washington Street will be reduced to two lanes from Wacker Drive to State Street starting early Tuesday, a two-block extension of the current closure which now goes from Wacker Drive to Clark Street. No right turns will be allowed at LaSalle Street, but alleys and parking lots in the construction zone will remain open.

Madison Street will be closed 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

The lane closure on Washington Street will be extended to Michigan Avenue in coming weeks.

Loop Link is an update to the Loop's transit infrastructure to make bus travel quicker and more reliable, city officials said. The project is scheduled to be largely done by the end of the year.
