Newly Opened Q-Tine Offers Free BBQ/Poutine Giveaway to First 25 Customers

LOGAN SQUARE — Q-Tine opened Wednesday, May 20, but owners of the BBQ and poutine mash-up eatery are celebrating their first weekend on Milwaukee Ave. with a twist Friday.

The shop (pronounced Q-Teen) will be giving away 25 orders of its Pulled Pork Q-Tine — that’s fruitwood smoked pork butt, twice-fried Kennebec "chipper" potatoes, beef gravy and Wisconsin white cheddar cheese curds — to the first 25 people through the door May 22 at 4 p.m.

Q-Tine plans to cater to Logan Square’s late-night crowd by offering some of the longest hours in the area, staying open until 4 a.m. on weekends, according to an announcement for the grand opening.

The menu offers comfort food, blending Memphis-style barbeque and Montreal-inspired poutine — a mix of the talents and traditions brought by partners Greg Morton, a BBQ expert and chef with more than 20 years of experience; Harvey Gladman, a Montreal native, former semi-pro hockey player and restaurateur; and Ron DiNella, a longtime finance expert in Chicago's restaurant scene.

Q-Tine is described as a “friendly collaboration between three fun-loving restaurant personalities,” and will now be on display in the shop’s 1,000-square-foot airstream trailer-inspired restaurant.
