CHICAGO — At least 14 people were wounded in gun violence across the city since Thursday afternoon, police said.

In Bridgeport, two men were shot in a drug-related shooting Thursday night, and in Albany Park a man was shot by someone in a black SUV while walking through an alley.

Most recently in Chicago Lawn, a 29-year-old man was walking down the street in the 6900 block of South Talman Avenue when shots were fired from a passing black vehicle at 5:40 a.m., said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was shot in his upper thigh and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Sedevic said.

Several hours earlier, a 20 year-old man was walking in the 4800 block of West Jackson Boulevard in Austin when he heard shots and felt pain at 1:45 a.m. He was shot in his right thigh and right calf and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.

Around 12:35 a.m., a 38-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Wolcott Avenue  in West Englewood when a dark colored vehicle drove past and someone inside fired shots, Sedevic said.

The woman was shot in both of her legs and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in fair condition, Sedevic said.

Around midnight, a 19 -year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 6800 block of South East End Avenue in South Shore when he heard shots and felt pain. He was shot in his upper right thigh and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and listed in fair condition, Sedevic said.

An hour earlier a 30-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 12100 block of South Parnell Avenue in West Pullman around 11 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, Sedevic said.

The man, a documented gang member, was shot in his left buttocks, was taken to Christ in fair condition, police said.

Around 9:30 p.m., a 22 year-old man was walking in the 8000 block of South Brandon Avenue in South Chicago when a gunman walked up and fired shots. The man was shot in his lower left leg and taken to Mercy Hospital where he was treated and released, Sedevic said.

Around 7:30 p.m., a 56-year-old man was shot in his left foot in the 6700 block of South Champlain Avenue in Woodlawn and taken to Saint Bernard Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.

A person of interest was being questioned in the shooting, police said.

Around 5:45 p.m., a 22-year-old man was a passenger of a vehicle in the 4700 block of South Karlov Avenue in Archer Heights when he realized he had been shot in the knee. The driver took him to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.

According to police, the man is a documented gang member.

Around 4:50 p.m., a 24-year-old man was sitting on the porch of a residence in the 700 block of East 90th Place in Chatham when an unknown man walked up and fired shots, striking the man in his back, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was listed in fair condition Sedevic said.

Two other people were wounded in South Side shootings Thursday afternoon.
