MOUNT GREENWOOD — The Mount Greenwood Chamber of Commerce has invited seventh- and eighth-grade students to "Chalk the Walk" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the neighborhood's shopping district.

Students from the George F. Cassell Fine Arts School and Mount Greenwood School will decorate the sidewalks on 111th Street from Whipple Street to Drake Avenue.

The young artists will also bring their spring-inspired drawings to the sidewalks on Kedzie Avenue from 110th to 112th streets.

The students' work is intended to draw customers into the businesses on the far Southwest Side. Store owners are asked to supply the chalk as well as refreshments for the designers.

For more information, visit the chamber's website or call Darlene Myers, executive director of the group, at 773-238-6103.
