COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A high school junior was held without bail Thursday after prosecutors said he waved a gun in a Snapchat video and threatened to shoot people on CPS grounds.

According to an arrest report, 18-year-old Dominique Dextra says in the short video "Meet me at the school at 3:08. I come to murk (or merch) [sic] these n-----. F--- what you talkin about." The report notes that "murk" and "merch" are slang for murder.

Dextra, a junior at George Washington High School on the Far South Side, then lifts a gun from his waistband and says "And I'm gonna bring my little friend with me, too," prosecutors and police alleged.

It's not clear when the video was posted. But school officials on Wednesday sent home several students who were threatened, Assistant State's Attorney Lorraine Scaduto said during a bond hearing.

Dextra was arrested on school grounds at 3535 E. 114th St. about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, court records show.

No gun was recovered, according to prosecutors.

Chicago Public Schools did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Dextra, of the 10400 block of South Hoxie Avenue, was charged with threatening a school and held without bail.

Dextra is currently awaiting trial for an aggravated criminal sexual assault case where the victim is his 11-year-old nephew, Scaduto said. Dextra was charged as an adult and released when he posted bond. The bail in that case was set at $100,000.
