CHICAGO — At least nine people have been shot since Tuesday morning with incidents recorded from Rogers Park to Chatham.
Most recently, a 26-year-old man was shot in his abdomen and hand in Edgewater around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday. Three hours before that, an 18-year-old man was shot in Kenwood.
In other shootings:
• Around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, a 20-year-old man standing on the sidewalk in the 8700 block of South Wabash Avenue when two men walked up to him and shot him in his left leg, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was taken to Christ Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Greer said.
• Around 9 p.m., a 30-year-old man was walking in the 5000 block of South Marshfield Avenue in New City when he was shot in his upper right leg, said Greer.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Greer said.
• A 17-year-old boy was shot while standing in the 5500 block of West Fulton Street in Austin around 8:30 p.m., when two men opened fire from an alley, Greer said.
The boy was shot in his left leg and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Greer said.
• A 58-year-old woman was shot while driving in Ashburn. Around 8:35 p.m., the woman was driving in the 3600 block of West 85th Place when someone in an SUV opened fire striking her in her left shoulder, Greer said.
The woman was taken to Christ, where her condition was stabilized, Greer said.
• Around 6 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park. Tuesday afternoon, two people were also shot in South Shore and Rogers Park.
