CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot while driving in Edgewater early Wednesday.

Around 1:20 a.m. the man was driving southbound in the 5900 block of North Winthrop Avenue when a man opened fire from the sidewalk, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his abdomen and hand. He was listed in critical condition after driving himself to St. Francis Hospital.

No one is in custody for the shooting
