AVONDALE — Avondale Neighbors, assemble!

The Avondale Neighborhood Association is calling for residents to help remove graffiti along Milwaukee Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 30.

The event is part of the Graffiti Action Hero program, which aims to remove the "blight" of graffiti tagging, while leaving constructive street art intact.

Volunteers will meet at Fireman's Park, 2801 N. Kimball Ave., for a brief training session before embarking. The volunteers will work up to Central Park, 721 N. Central Park Ave., and will use SoSafe Graffiti Remover.

Following the event, Avondale Neighbors will provide a light lunch from Peruvian Corner Market.

Graffiti Action Hero days have taken place in Wicker Park, Uptown and West Town. The May 30 event was sponsored by the 35th Ward alderman's office.
