CHICAGO — Police are investigating the death of a 5-week-old girl who died last week in Roseland.

On Saturday around 9:46 a.m., officers responded to a call of an infant unresponsive in the 11300 block of South Edbrooke Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

London Thompson was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office and police.

Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the incident, and has removed another child from the home and placed them with a relative as part of DCSF monitor safety plan, said Veronica Resa, a DCSF spokeswoman.
