Man Critically Wounded in Uptown Shooting, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was critically wounded after he was shot in Uptown Saturday night, police said.

Around 9:05 p.m., the man was sitting in a vehicle in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue when a man walked up and fired at the vehicle, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

According to the Sun-Times, the gunman fired nine shots before running away.

The 28-year-old was shot in his arm and side and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, Sedevic said.

No further information was available.
