Newly Ordained Priests To Be Assigned To Northwest Side Parishes

JEFFERSON PARK — A graduate of Our Lady of Victory School will be ordained a priest Saturday by Archbishop Blase Cupich, the Archdiocese of Chicago announced.

Matthew Heinrich will celebrate his first Mass as a priest at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Victory, 4434 N. Laramie Ave.

Heinrich, 26, received a master's degree in divinity earlier this month from the University of St. Mary of the Lake and Mundelein Seminary, according to a statement from the archdiocese.

Heinrich will continue his studies as a member of the theology faculty at Mundelein Seminary while serving at Saints Faith, Hope, and Charity Parish in Winnetka.

Heinrich is one of 14 men who will be ordained Saturday at Holy Name Cathedral.

Other men set to be ordained to the priesthood Saturday by Cupich who will serve on the Far Northwest Side include:

• Pawel Adamus, 30, from Warsaw, Poland, who will be assigned to St. Ferdinand Church, 5900 W. Barry Ave. in Belmont Cragin. Adamus will celebrate his first Mass at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Pascal Church, 3935 N. Melvina Ave., in Portage Park.

• Piotr Pawel Samborski, 27, from Siedlce, Poland, who will be assigned to St. John Brebeuf Parish in Niles. Samborski will celebrate his first Mass at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at St. Ferdinand.

• Jaroslaw Adrian Maciejewski, 30, born in Olsztyn, Poland, who will be assigned to St. William Church, 2600 N. Sayre Ave., in Galewood. His first Mass in English will be at 4 p.m. Saturday and his first Mass in Polish will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, at St. Monica Church, 5136 N. Nottingham Ave., in Norwood Park.
