'Hackerspace' in Former Zenith Spot Opens, Pours Molten Metal

ROGERS PARK — The ''hackerspace'' featuring metalworking, woodworking, welding and 3D printing equipment for anyone to use is now open.

The Chicago Industrial Arts and Design Center hosted a tour Monday of its three-story facility at 6433 N. Ravenswood Ave., while it began signing up people to participate in classes.

Molten Metal Monday! Check out this video of a test pour CIADC did in preparation for our first classes. If this looks cool to you (and i mean, c'mon it looks super cool) sign up for Introduction to Foundry at www.ciadc.org. Classes are filling up!
