MILLENNIUM PARK — The company behind Smoke Daddy in Wicker Park and Crosby's Kitchen in Lakeview now has a restaurant with a patio on Michigan Avenue.

Remington's, the eighth restaurant by Chicago-based 4 Star Restaurant Group, will open Monday morning across the street from Millennium Park at 20 N. Michigan Ave.

Named after artist-and-author Frederic Remington, the restaurant will serve "classic American" fare from ribs and rotisserie chicken to its signature Remington steak, an 18-ounce, dry-aged prime bone-in strip available for $57.

Remington's biggest selling point, however, may be its large windows opening out onto Michigan Avenue with views of the park. An accompanying 40-seat patio is on the way.

"It's kind of a dream to be here," 4 Star Partner Doug Dunlay said.

The 250-seat bar/restaurant is taking over space left vacant by a shuttered Caffè Bacci, and took about seven months to build out, Dunlay said. Remington's also will serve seafood from a raw bar, including pressed sushi and branzino, the latter available for $32.

Dunlay said the restaurant aims to cater to the business and tourist crowd at its new Downtown digs. As such, Remington's includes several private spaces and a lounge off the foyer for people waiting for a table. As far as meeting spaces go, the crown jewel may be encased in a 1,200-bottle wine cellar.

Remington's will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Check out the slideshow for more looks at the restaurant before it opens.
