Three Loyola University Students Robbed Near Campus, Police Say

ROGERS PARK — Three Loyola University students were robbed near campus early Wednesday morning, police said.

The students were walking 3:30 a.m. Wednesday near West Sheridan Road and Winthrop Avenue when two men approached them and demanded their valuables while one offender displayed a silver handgun, said Thomas Murray, Loyola's chief of police, in a notice.

The students gave up their stuff and the men fled west toward North Broadway, he said. No one was injured.

One offender was described as a black man with medium complexion, aged early-to-mid 20s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The other offender was described as a black man with medium complexion, about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, with a slim build, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

Murray said anyone with information about the incident should contact Campus Safety at 773-508-6039 or the Chicago Police Department via 911 or 312-744-8263.
