MEDICAL DISTRICT — A man waiting for a bus was the victim of an armed robbery early Sunday, police said.
At about 3 a.m. Sunday, a man was waiting for a bus near 1845 W. Roosevelt Road when a red Pontiac Grand Prix pulled up and a man approached the victim demanding cash. The victim was hit in the head with a crowbar and the robber took $45 in cash.
The victim was brought to University of Illinois Hospital for treatment. The robber remains at large.
The Chicago Police Department is leading the investigation. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call 311.
Police say the victim is not affiliated with the University of Illinois at Chicago.
