Police Warn Residents After Armed Robberies in West Town, Wicker Park

CHICAGO — Police are warning residents near West Town and Wicker Park to take extra caution after two armed robberies in the neighborhood in April.

During the robberies, two men robbed their victims after showing a handgun or knife, police said.

The first incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on April 12 in the 1200 block of North Bosworth Avenue, police said. The most recent occurred around 12:45 a.m. on April 26 in the 1200 block of North Ashland Avenue, police said.

Witnesses described the thieves as black men between the ages of 35-40. Both men are about 6-foot-2-inches  and weigh around 250 pounds, police said.
