BEVERLY —­ Archbishop Blase J. Cupich will recognize leaders in eight parishes throughout Cook and Lake counties for their religious instruction on May 6.

The annual Catechetical and Youth Ministries Awards Banquet begins at 6 p.m. at Drury Lane Theater and Conference Center in west suburban Oakbrook Terrace.

The 2015 Archdiocesan award winners are:

• Elena Chermak, Director of Religious Education, St. John Fisher Parish, Beverly

• Sr. Suzanne Schuman, O.P., Catechist, St. Barnabas Parish, Beverly

• The Rev. Richard Creagh, Assistant Pastor/Moderator of Youth Group, St. Gabriel Parish, Canaryville

• Melani McAllister, Catechist, Queen of All Saints Basilica, Sauganash

• Peter and Theresa Nagaro, Youth Ministry Leaders, St. Pascal Parish/St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Portage Park

• Wanda Penar, Polish School Director, Polska Szkola im. Gen. W. Andersa, Norwood Park

• Pat Hoffmann, Director of Religious Education, St. Joseph Parish, suburban Homewood

• Mary Jeanne Pazin, Director of Religious Education, St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Parish, southwest suburban Tinley Park
