CHICAGO — A taxi driver was wounded during a robbery in West Town early Sunday, police said.
Around 4:30 a.m., a 26-year-old driver picked up a man who asked to be taken to the 800 block of North Peoria Street, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago police spokesman.
As the driver arrived at the location, the passanger attempted to rob the driver. During the scuffle, the driver struck an object and was cut on both his hands, Zala said.
The driver was treated and released at Mount Sinai Hospital, Zala said.
