RAVENSWOOD — Pedestrians will most definitely have the right of way during Sunday's Ravenswood Run.

The annual 5K, which benefits the Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry and the Student Health Centers at Lake View and Amundsen High Schools, is the rare race to snake its way through neighborhood streets.

It makes for a charming course for runners but a headache for drivers.

Parking restrictions will be in effect along the route from 4-11 a.m. Sunday. The bright yellow "no parking" signs are impossible to miss.

Streets that make up the race's route will be closed between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. (See map below.) Police officers will be stationed along the route and will reopen streets as runners pass through.

Streets along the start and finish lines will be closed from 4-11 a.m. to accommodate pre- and post-race activities:

• Hermitage Avenue between Sunnyside and Leland avenues

• Wilson Avenue between Paulina Street and Ravenswood (East) Avenue

• Ravenswood (East) Avenue between Wilson and Leland avenues

Bottom line: If you're traveling anywhere near Ravenswood or Lincoln Square Sunday morning, don't drive.
