Our Favorite Things Oprah Is Auctioning Off in Chicago

NEAR WEST SIDE — Welcome to Oprah Winfrey's $800,000 moving sale.

Four years after she left town, the multi-billionaire mogul who built her empire in Chicago is ready to auction off more than 400 personal items here, including gilded furniture and pens designed by Gianni Versace. 

The lots are collectively worth $800,000, according to Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, which is hosting the sell-off at 10 a.m. Saturday at 1338 W. Lake St. With item appraisals ranging from $10 to $120,000, Hindman contends there's a chance for anyone to get their hands on one of Oprah's (formerly) favorite things. Auction proceeds will be donated to charity. 

DNAinfo Chicago combed through the auction catalog, and here are our top picks:

A gilded marble table

This 31-inch tall, 18th-century marble and giltwood table is valued between $6,000 and $8,000. 

Your own makeup chair

This makeup chair is valued between $800 and $1,200. A makeup cart valued between $500 and $700 is available separately.

The Red Scarf

This 34-inch by 36-inch oil painting by Richard Edward Miller, valued between $80,000 and $120,000, is the most expensive item up for auction Saturday.

A "beast"-ly flower pot

This jardinière, or flower pot, is adorned with gilded "mythical beasts" and valued between $4,000 and $6,000.

Now for something more realistic

This set of pear-shaped Japanese fruit dishes, valued between $10 and $20, are the least expensive Oprah items up for auction.
