CHICAGO — Three people were arrested Wednesday after striking two police squad cars during a chase in Portage Park, police said.

Around 11:20 p.m., officers were following a car near Newport and Linder avenues when the car struck their police squad car, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman.

After striking the squad car, the car drove away and struck another squad car, Gaines said.

Police were finally able to stop the car near School Street and Cicero Avenue and arrest three people, Gaines said.

No officers were injured during the incident, and charges were pending Thursday morning, Gaines said.
