LINCOLN SQUARE — Fountainhead has declared May 1 the official start of summer.
That's when the restaurant, 1970 W. Montrose Ave., will open its rooftop deck, consistently rated one of Chicagoans' favorite outdoor dining spaces.
New this year: The rooftop will open for lunch at noon on Fridays, instead of the previous 4 p.m., which is sure to please patrons looking to get a head start on the weekend.
Patty Wetli says May still might be a bit early for rooftop beers:
Can't wait until May Day?
Weather permitting, the rooftop will be open during Fountainhead's fifth anniversary celebration, 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. April 28. Select food and drink specials will cost $5 and Bubbly Creek Bluegrass Band will perform live.
The rooftop's regular hours are: 4-11 p.m., Monday through Thursday; noon to midnight, Friday and Saturday; and noon to 11 p.m., Sunday.
