BEVERLY — A pair of residential burglaries in the Beverly neighborhood prompted officers in the Morgan Park District to issue a warning on Monday afternoon.

The incidents occurred on April 14 and 17. In both incidents, an unknown offender entered the residence through a back or side door using a pry tool, according to the warning.

The burglaries took place in the 10500 block of South Bell Avenue and the 10700 block of South Fairfield Avenue, police said.

In both cases, the burglar entered the master bedroom and stole jewelry and electronics. Both incidents occurred during the daytime hours, the warning states.

Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th) distributed the burglary warning in an email alert Monday. The alert recommends residents secure doors and windows, lock gates and fences, take photographs of expensive jewelry, keep a record of serial numbers for all electronics and call 911 upon noticing suspicious people or vehicles.
