Uptown Burglaries Lead to Police Warning

CHICAGO — Police are warning residents to lock doors in Uptown after a series of residential burglaries there.

In the three incidents, a burglar entered the residence through an unlocked door and took items, police said in a statement.

All of the burglaries occurred in the 800 block of West Buena Avenue.

The most recent incident happened on April 5 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Another burglary was reported earlier that day between 10:20 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. The first burglary was reported sometime between 4 p.m. on April 1 and 4 a.m. on April 2, police said.

Police are also cautioning residents to pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.
