Man Shot In Store Among 4 wounded Since Thursday Afternoon, Police Say

CHICAGO — At least four people were wounded in shootings since Thursday afternoon, police said.

In the most recent shooting, a man was wounded in East Garfield Park Friday morning.

Around 12:15 a.m., a 28-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of West Lexington Street when someone inside a passing dark-colored sedan fired shots, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was shot in the back of his right leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in good condition, Cooper said.

Around 8:30 p.m. in West Englewood, a 36-year-old man was shot in his chest in the 6900 block of South Damen Avenue, Cooper said

He was taken Holy Cross Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, Cooper said.

A half hour earlier in Greater Grand Crossing, a 35-year-old man was inside of a business in the 500 block of East 79th Street when someone outside fired shots, Cooper said.

The man was shot in his right forearm and shoulder and drove himself to Jackson Park Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

Several hours earlier, around 3:45 p.m., a 19-year-old man was critically wounded in North Lawndale.

The man was in the 1500 block of South Kostner Avenue when a man approached on foot and fired shots before getting into a black SUV and driving away, Cooper said.

The 19-year-old was shot in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in critical condition, Cooper said.
