EDGEBROOK — The Edgebrook Community Association will host a panel discussion April 27 designed to develop a strategy to breathe new life into the neighborhood's business district.
The panel discussion is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. April 27 at the Edgebrook branch of the Chicago Public Library, 5331 W. Devon Ave., organizers said.
Representatives from the Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie, the Six Corners Association and Local First Chicago will participate in a panel discussion and a question and answer session on how they have improved their business districts.
A dozen business owners broke away from the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce several months ago to launch Everyday Edgebrook, a new group designed to breathe new life into the area near Devon and Central avenues.
There are too many empty storefronts and too little foot traffic in downtown Edgebrook, the association said. The session is designed to help Edgebrook residents and business owners "learn from the successes of neighboring communities," organizers said.
