ASHBURN — St. Rita High School had its biggest signing day ever on Wednesday.

Two basketball players, seven baseball players and a track athlete all signed letters of intent in the school's board room at 7740 S. Western Ave. in Ashburn.

Mustang basketball players who agreed to continue their education and playing careers at the collegiate level include:

• Myles Carter signed with Seton Hall University. Carter previously attended John H. Vanderpoel Elementary School in Beverly.

• Kain Harris signed with Tulane University. Harris previously attended Heritage Middle School in suburban Summit.

The St. Rita baseball team had seven players commit to play for a scholarship on Wednesday. The No. 4 ranked team nationally and top-rated team in Illinois tied a record for St. Rita baseball scholarships with 11, including four previous signings. The most recent baseball signings include:

• Danny Budziak and Matt Murawski signed with Webster University. Budziak previously attended Old Quarry Middle School in Lemont. Murawski previously attended Summit Hill Junior High in Frankfort Square.

• Connor McAlilly and Matt Lenzen signed with Loras College. McAlilly previously attended St. John Fisher Elementary School in Beverly. Matt Lenzen previously attended St. Cajetan Elementary School in Morgan Park.

• Estaban Martinez signed with Mesa Community College. Martinez previously attended Tinley Central Middle School in Tinley Park.

• Sean Jaycox signed with St. Ambrose University. Jaycox previously attended St. Christina Elementary School in Mount Greenwood.

• Anthony Faron signed with the University of St. Francis. Faron previously attended Martino Junior High in New Lenox.

The final signing of the day came from the track team:

• Tyler Johnson signed with McKendree University. Johnson previously attended Infant Jesus of Prague in Flossmoor.

Previously signed baseball players include:

• Matt Ryan signed with Butler University. Ryan previously attended St. John Fisher Elementary School in Beverly.

• Shane Peisker signed with the U.S. Naval Academy. Peisker previously attended Highland Middle School in Highland, Ind.

• Marty Bechina signed with Michigan State University. Bechina previously attended St. John Fisher Elementary School in Beverly.

• Tyler Halas signed with the University of Tennessee. Halas previously attended Kenyan Woods Middle School in South Elgin.

Previously signed basketball players include:

• Armani Chaney signed with Tennessee State University. Chaney previously attended St. Sabina Academy in Auburn Gresham.

• Charles Matthews signed with the University of Kentucky. Matthews previously attended Kenwood Academy in Kenwood.
