One Killed, 10 Wounded Since Tuesday Morning

CHICAGO — One person was killed and 10 people were wounded in shootings across the city since Tuesday morning.

Most recently, a 27-year-old man was shot in his leg at 3:35 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Lamon Avenue in Belmont Cragin. The man refused medical attention, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

About 40 minutes earlier, a 32-year-old man was shot in his chest during a domestic incident on the border of South Shore and South Chicago, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Around 2:42 a.m., the man was in the 7900 block of South Constance Avenue when he was shot. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Cooper said.

Around 2 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was fatally shot while in a car in Uptown.

Around 12:50 a.m., an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in his groin while walking in an alley in the 7100 block of South Francisco Avenue in Chicago Lawn, Cooper said.

The man, a documented gang member, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Cooper said.

About three hours earlier, a 15-year-old boy was shot in North Lawndale.

Around 9:55 p.m., police found the boy shot multiple times in the 4100 block of West 16th Street. The boy, who was shot in both of his legs and his abdomen, was unable to tell officers what happened, Cooper said.

He was listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai, Cooper said.

Around 9:20 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in his right shoulder while getting into his car in the 6000 block of West Wabansia Avenue in Galewood. He was taken to Mount Sinai, where his condition was stabilized, Cooper said.

Two people were also shot in separate incidents Tuesday in Englewood.

Hours earlier, a 23-year-old man was shot in Brighton Park. Around 3:12 p.m., the man was walking in the 4400 block of South Talman Avenue when he was shot in his leg, Cooper said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in an unknown condition, Cooper said.

Around 2:40 p.m., a 26-year-old man was walking in the 5900 block of South Western Avenue in Chicago Lawn when a passenger in a passing black car opened fire, striking him in his leg. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, Cooper said.

Around 9:30 a.m., a 45-year-old man was shot after a car accident in Humboldt Park.
