CHICAGO — At least four homes in Portage Park have been burglarized so far this month, according to a police statement.
The series of incidents began sometime between 7 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on April 7 when a home on the 3300 block of North Long Avenue reported items missing.
During the invasion, an unknown number of offenders either unlawfully enter, or break into a home, through doors and windows during primarily daytime and early evening hours. Items so far missing include cash, electronics, jewelry and more.
Other related burglaries that police say have occurred include:
• A home was burglarized sometime between April 8-10 in the 5500 block of West Berenice Avenue. The time of day is unknown.
• On April 13, a home in the 5500 block of West Byron Street was targeted between 5:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Also on April 13, a home in the 6000 block of West Grace Street was targeted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Police are urging residents to make sure all windows and doors are sealed and locked, as well as staying aware of any suspicious activity.
Police are also asking for the public's help in identifying the individual or individuals responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call Area North Detectives at 312-744-8263.
