By Mina Bloom | April 13, 2015 4:48pm

UPTOWN — Ross Dress For Less may be coming to Uptown, according to plans on a Chicago real estate group's website.

Mid-America Real Estate Group is proposing the retail chain as the anchor tenant at 918 W. Montrose Ave., across from Jewel Osco.

Mid-America's proposal, which was first reported by Uptown Update, includes a 73-car parking lot. The real estate group could not be immediately reached for comment.

According to Tressa Feher, chief of staff for Ald. James Cappleman (46th), a lease has not yet been signed by Ross.

Feher added that it's her understanding that if the development is built, it will be done in accordance with current zoning. If that does not change, a community meeting will not be required. The alderman holds community meetings on potential developments if the plan lists specifications that fall outside of the current zoning, she said.

"Cappleman has been working closely with the developer to move this project forward and is looking forward to seeing the final plans after an agreement is reached with Ross," she said in an email.
