PORTAGE PARK — Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the Six Corners Shopping District as part of a citywide cleanup event.

From 9-11 a.m. Saturday volunteers will pick up trash, remove grafitti and report potholes, said organizers with the Six Corners Association. Participants should meet at Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Volunteers, who should wear old clothes and bring work gloves, will fuel up on coffee and donuts before heading out, and get samples of Josi's Frozen Yogurt to take home.

For two decades, city officials and local organizations have organized a citywide spring cleanup day to beautify local communities.
