BRIDGEPORT — With the Sox home opener just hours away, there are lots of spots around the neighborhood to get you in the mood for some South Side baseball.

If you're looking to get some good juju or just cheap brews and good eats before the 115th Opening Day, you can head to the Bridgeport staple, Fabulous Freddie's at 701 W. 31st St., for a meet-and-greet with White Sox fan favorite Ron Kittle. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Freddie's will offer domestic cans for $1.15 and serve Italian beef and pizza all day. Fans also will be entered to win free hot dogs during the 2015 season.

Speaking of free hot dogs, Bernice's Tavern, 3238 S. Halsted St., will be giving dogs away all day. The small neighborhood dive isn't a sports bar, per se, but it's a great place to watch the game and get the PBR/whiskey combo for 5 bucks and domestic beers for $3.50, according to the manager, Steve B.

If you're ready to talk White Sox baseball as soon as you wake up Friday, ESPN Radio Chicago will broadcast the Carmen and Jurko Show live from Buffalo Wings and Rings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We're excited, just like our fans are, to get back to home baseball," said Justin Bobin, general manager for the Wings and Rings at 3434 S. Halsted St. Wash down that sports talk with Miller Light pints for $4, Amsterdam Vodka bombs for $5 and Amsterdam Vodka lemonades for $4. Or try one (or all) of their 13 flavors of wings.

And just in case you consider 10 a.m. a late start for the big game, 670 The Score will be broadcasting live from Cork and Kerry, 3258 S. Princeton Ave., beginning at 8 a.m. Bud Light and Budweisers will be $4.

Just looking for food? Husky Hog BBQ has got you covered. There'll be a food truck outside the restaurant at 335 W. 31st St. serving the regular Friday menu: baby back ribs. And inside they'll be doing business as usual, said owner Joe Woodel.

Or stop by Schaller's Pump, 3714 S. Halsted St., for corned beef sandwiches, prime rib, its famous homemade meatloaf or a beer for $3.50. At Jack's place, customers can feel free to leave their car when they head to the game.

Just booze for you? Mitchell's Tap, 3356 S. Halsted St., will be serving Two Brothers Beers for $5 and Smirnoff drinks for $4. And at Turtle's Bar and Grill, 238 W. 33rd St., domestics are $4.50; imports are $5.50; drafts are $5; and Miller Light and Coors are $4. According to its Facebook page, the patio will be open, so you can enjoy the nice weekend weather there.

Not enough? Here's the White Sox's list of recommended neighborhood joints:
