ANDERSONVILLE — Fans of deep dish pizza, rejoice.

Giordano's is set to open April 28 at 4 p.m. in the former Ann Sather restaurant at 5207 N. Clark St., the restaurant announced in a news release Thursday.

Patrons at the North Side restaurant will be able to dine in, carry out or order delivery.

Expect two floors of dining space complete with a large bar on the first floor with garage doors. During spring and summer months, the garage doors will remain open. And dog bowls and leash hooks will be installed outside of the doors so dog owners can dine with their pups.

Inside, there will be a large painting of the Swedish American Museum's historic water tower, which had to be removed after a brutal winter caused irreparable damage. The museum is currently raising funds to build a replica tower.

Can't wait for the official opening date? The museum is partnering with Giordano's to offer a sneak preview and fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. April 21. Those who are interested can make reservations at avilleresos@giardanos.com.

Fifty percent of the proceeds from the event will go toward the museum's water tower fund.

The restaurant will open at 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 11 a.m. on the weekend. Weekday lunch service will begin in late May.
