CHICAGO — A 59-year-old man died Monday after being hit by a car while riding his bike on Easter Sunday.
Around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Michael Joseph was riding his bike westbound in the 1200 block of West 74th Street when he was struck by a light-colored Chevrolet headed in the same direction, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
After striking Joseph, the car headed north on Loomis Boulevard. Joseph was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died of his injuries Monday, Sedevic said.
Joseph, of the 1400 block of West 74th Street, was pronounced dead at 1:46 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
