Community Choir Brings 23 Southwest Side Churches Together

BEVERLY — The Beverly Morgan Park Community Choir will perform its annual concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 12 at St. Barnabas Church.

The choir will sing composer Stuart Scott's "A Contemporary Mass" at the Catholic church at 10134 S. Longwood Dr. in Beverly. The choir will also sing traditional hymns, exuberant gospel songs and contemporary praise music.

The Beverly Morgan Park Community Choir brings together volunteer singers of many denominations from more than 23 churches on the Southwest Side. Each season, the choir rehearses for approximately ten weeks in preparation for their concert in early spring.

The choir began in 1999 and costs are underwritten by donors, participating churches, the community and the choir members themselves.
