ANDERSONVILLE — Honor a loved one, friend or even a pet by planting a tree in their name.

Andersonville South Neighborhood Association has secured the funding to take down endangered trees in the Ravenswood Metra stop embankment, but they need help putting up new trees in their place.

The community group needs to raise $3,200 to plant new eco-conscious, native trees in the area, which is also home to Christy Gardens. The existing trees suffer from aging root systems, disease and infestation.

The funds will also cover landscaping costs.

All donations must be sent to the group's treasurer, Andy Rosenberg. For more information, visit the group's website.
