CHICAGO — Chicago's lonely hearts club will soon get a shot in the arm from TV host and comedianne Ellen DeGeneres.
DeGeneres is the executive producer behind a new 8-episode NBC dating reality series, "First Dates," based on a British show by the same name.
The show is set to take place in Chicago with production slated to begin in July, and the show's producers are looking for participants who are willing to explore the experience of what happens before, during and after first dates. The hour-long episodes will span across several couples all interacting on a first date on the same night, in the same restaruant.
According to the show's premise, the dating world can be a complex jungle. How succuessful people are in finding love often times is the byproduct of what happens after a first date: Will true love blossom, or will it be back to the drawing board?
